Small groups

Meeting together in small groups is important for us as a church community. Our small groups are places through which individuals can find friendship and support, and can grow together as Christians. We want to encourage all who are involved in our church to be part of a small group, and we have a range of diverse groups suitable for all.

We have a large programme of Life Groups, House Groups and Bible Study groups, which meet at various times in the week in member’s homes around the community. Aside from the information provided here, there is a separate leaflet available which gives full details of the current Life Groups that are available.

Our house groups are established groups that meet at various times during the week in various locations around the community. Some are focused particularly on bible study, others provide more space for discussion and fellowship.

	Life Groups  Life Groups are a growing network of small groups within the church. They offer people a place for mutual care and prayer, for bible study and learning. They are a great way for people to feel that they belong. They meet fortnightly through each term. Read more...
	House Groups  Our house groups are established groups that meet at various locations around the community. Some are focused particularly on bible study, others provide more space for discussion and fellowship.
	Bible Study  Alongside our house groups, we also have a Friday night bible study. At the end of a busy week this group, which meets in different members homes, provides time for reflection on the Bible and space to pray.
	Start!  Start! is a down-to-earth short course to help people discover the Christian faith in a small group setting, giving chance to think about ‘life direction’, and discover more about Jesus and Christianity. Each session lasts for about an hour and it runs for six weeks. Check the notices for details about the next course.
	Alpha  Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions. Explore the answers to some hard questions and just who Jesus is. Check the notices or web site for more information about when the next course will be taking place.
	Christian Education Classes  Each year the church organises a short course presented by a theologian either from the University of Manchester or from further afield.
	Men’s Discussion Group  The group is suitable for those of little or strong faith, or who are simply curious to know more about the relevance of Christianity in the modern world.
